Sunday 11th November
A morning walk around Dovestone Reservoir on the western edge of the Peak District
Distance: 4km; Ascent: negligible; Cloudy but dry; with Lynsey & Isabel
It was bright and sunny in Stockport this morning so we thought it might be nice to head into the Peak District for a bit of a walk. Some months had passed since my
previous visit to Dovestone Reservoir so we decided to head there for a circumnavigation of the reservoir with Isabel.

Dovestone Reservoir Overflow |
We set off walking from the main car park at around 10:45am and walked over the dam with Isabel to begin our clockwise circuit. After around a kilometre or so Isabel decided she had had enough of walking and so clambered into the pushchair.

Looking down Dovestone Reservoir |
There were good views down the reservoir from its head as the sun was starting to break through the cloud to produce shafts of sunlight. Continuing along the east shore we passed the sailing club, which seemed busy today, and returned to the car at around 12:15 before heading home after a pleasant outing.
